NEW YORK — Fresh Harvest Products Inc. plans to make its Wings of Nature organic snack bars available in Walgreens stores.

The natural and organic food and beverage company said Tuesday that Walgreens stores are slated to begin selling the snack bars later this month, starting in the Orlando, Fla., region.

Plans call for the snack bars to be available in approximately 200 retail locations. The bars will be placed at checkout counters and will be offered in Fresh Harvest’s top organic snack bar flavors.

"This is a great entry into a national chain, and we will actively be working toward expanding into additional regions," Fresh Harvest chief executive officer Michael Friedman said in a statement. "We will now work aggressively toward a successful marketing program targeted to customers of Walgreens throughout the Orlando area. The Orlando area represents a very good customer base for the company. We believe that the state of Florida is a great place to further increase our expansion and growth of our products and distribution."

Fresh Harvest offers a line of organic snack products and beverages, including health bars, coffee bars and salsa under the Wings of Nature brand and beverages under the TeAloe name. The company also has a grocery product line of whole bean and ground coffees as well as beverages.
