VALLEY FORGE, Pa. — Mike Cantrell has been named president of AmerisourceBergen Corp.’s Good Neighbor Pharmacy network.

Cantrell has also been named group vice president of retail business development and reports to Jerry Cline, senior vice president of retail sales and marketing at AmerisourceBergen.

In his new post Cantrell serves as national leader of the network of more than 3,600 independently owned and operated pharmacies. He oversees the development of business opportunities for the retail customers and is directly responsible for the Good Neighbor Pharmacy brand.

“I look forward to helping our pharmacists develop their role in health care reform with the understanding that they are a significant component of the solution,’’ says Cantrell. “The changes will revolve around access, affordability and quality.’’

Cantrell joined AmerisourceBergen last year as vice president of business development. Before that he was vice president of professional services at Longs Drug Stores and was also named to the board of RxAmerica, the chain’s wholly owned pharmacy benefit manager.
