DUBUQUE, Iowa – Hartig Drug Company’s pharmacies are now administering COVID-19 vaccines in all Wisconsin and Iowa locations through the Federal Pharmacy Partner Program. In addition, Hartig Drug is providing vaccines in most of its Illinois locations as well through State and local partnerships.

Since December 2020, Hartig Drug has been administering vaccinations and is continuing to work closely with local and federal authorities to receive additional doses on an ongoing basis. Hartig Drug pharmacies are currently administering the Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, dependent on specific location.

In addition to in-store vaccinations, Hartig Drug has provided off-site clinics to ensure equitable distribution of the vaccine. To decrease barriers to access, Hartig Drug has worked with its community partners that have been able to assist with identifying populations that are most in need of receiving the vaccine. This past month, Hartig Drug pharmacists held a vaccination clinic at nursing homes, Dubuque Rescue Mission, Goodwill, addiction treatment centers, and several other local community organizations with at-risk populations.

“We’re extremely proud of all of our pharmacy teams for their commitment to serving the public and doing their part to help our communities get vaccinated,” said Charles Hartig, CEO of Hartig Drug. “We’re grateful to offer the vaccine at virtually all of our pharmacy locations to further assist in efforts to help our communities recover from the pandemic.”

Residents of Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin can check for eligibility and schedule first dose appointments at hartigdrug.com/covidvaccine. If either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine is received, the pharmacy staff will schedule second dose appointments at the time of the patient’s first dose. Vaccines are provided at no cost, though residents are asked to bring their health insurance card and state-issued identification to their appointment.
