Industry mourns Daniel Kantor

JUPITER, Fla. — Industry veteran Daniel Kantor passed away on August 30. Danny Kantor founded Drug World Pharmacy in 1975 when he opened up the renowned store in New City, N.Y. Over the years Drug World grew to multiple stores and a long-term care division known as Med World Pharmacy. In 1973, he was elected to be president of PSSNY (Pharmacists Society of the State of NY). He was known to be a leader and outspoken supporter of community pharmacy.

Kantor was actively involved with NACDS for many years taking the leadership of the small chain conference. Danny was happily married to his wife Arlene for over 67 years. They retired to the Jupiter, Florida community in 2000. He loved his family, music and boating. He was a licensed Coast Guard Captain. He and Arlene were founding members of the Monsey Jewish Center.

Kantor is survived by his wife Arlene, his children Heidi (David Snyder), Elliot (Robin) and Michael, his grandchildren Sarah, Mark and Bailey, Melanie, Scott, Riva and Alexis and his great granddaughter, Hana Sadie Snyder. He was loved and respected by his family and community. He passed away after 5 years of suffering from Alzheimer’s followed by Covid-19. The family is asking that any donations be sent to the American Brain Foundation.
