SEATTLE — Bartell Drugs has announced the selection of Rob Jensen as chief financial officer.

The community pharmacy operator noted that Jensen previously was senior vice president and CFO at Car Toys, a Seattle-based retailer of mobile entertainment, performance accessories and wireless phones.

Jensen, a graduate of Washington State University, has spent more than two decades in various accounting, finance and information technology positions.

At Bartell he will provide the 58-store chain with high-level financial analysis and support, including oversight of accounting and finance, IT, loss prevention and HIPAA operations.

“Rob’s addition to our executive team provides added depth and expertise in the planning and execution of the company’s strategies,”said vice chairman and treasurer Jean Bartell Barber.

Meanwhile, Bartell, which has been in business for nearly 115 years, teamed up with Coca-Cola Co. last month to offer Seattle-area residents a night of free ice skating at a local rink.

“Our customers are the reason for Bartell’s success over the years, and because of that we are always looking for ways to give back,” vice president of sales John Weith says.
