MIAMI — Navarro Discount Pharmacies has promoted director of human resources Cristy Leon-Rivero to vice president of marketing.
In her new position, Leon-Rivero will oversee the advertising, public relations, community relations and marketing efforts of the 28-unit drug store chain.
“Cristy Leon-Rivero is an outstanding member of our senior team, which has made numerous contributions to our company and to the community,” chief executive officer Steve Kaczynski says. “As we continue our expansion plans, Cristy’s focus on target marketing and market research will be critical.”
Leon-Rivero’s promotion comes on the heels of Navarro’s recent hiring of Kaczynski, the former president and CEO of Supervalu Inc.’s bigg’s division.
Kaczynski took over the helm from Marcio Cabrera, the managing director of MBF Healthcare partners, which owns the Navarro chain. Cabrera served as CEO on an interim basis until a permanent chief executive could be found.
Kaczynski is Navarro’s fourth CEO in the last three years.
