RICHMOND, British Columbia — A promotion by London Drugs encourages photographers both amateur and pro to celebrate their craft for World Photo Day.

The western Canada drug chain is spotlighting World Photo Day, held on Aug. 19, both in stores and online. At select stores in British Columbia and Alberta, the London Drugs Photolab will hold a series of free workshops offering tips, themes and new products to help photographers of all skill and experience levels.

Runnings throughout August, the workshops focus on such topics as choosing the right camera, mobile phone photography, DSLR photography, underwater photography, canvas mounting photos, and organizing/archiving photos, as well as Photolab tours.

Also as part of the World Photo Day promotion, the London Drugs Photolab is offering 25% off all canvas gallery wrap orders on Aug. 19.

London Drugs, too, is urging photographers to upload their best shots to the World Photo Day online gallery, which the drug chain described as “an absolute must-see for any true photography lover.”

The Canadian chain operates 78 stores throughout British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Besides full-service pharmacies, a hallmark of the retailer’s stores is a large electronics department, which features a wide selection of cameras and photo equipment as well as computers and computer accessories, software, televisions, home entertainment gear, mobile phones and devices, and household appliances.
