FLINT, Mich. — Martino Luu has been appointed vice president of innovation and process improvement at Diplomat ­Pharmacy Inc.

Luu will work with Diplomat’s business units to carry out evaluations of current processes as well as make recommendations for improvements designed to sharpen efficiency. The company is the largest independent specialty pharmacy in the United States.

“Martino will be instrumental in assisting with the implementation of recommended process changes,” commented Diplomat president Gary Kadlec.

“He brings significant industry knowledge to Diplomat and has the experience necessary to drive efficiencies that address the challenges of the specialty pharmacy space.”

Luu joins Diplomat from ­DavitaRx, where he served as a management consultant implementing streamlined processes across the business.

Before that, Luu was director of operations, senior director of clinical services and business process champion at Medco Health Solutions. He also has served as chief operating officer at Natural Health Remedies LLC. Luu holds a license to practice pharmacy in the states of New Jersey, Texas, Tennessee and Florida.
