Maesa fills out leadership team

PARIS – Maesa, the beauty brand incubator supplying retailers and beauty companies worldwide, Tuesday announced the appointment of Zaheer Ferguson as group CFO, Tara Brown as group chief marketing officer, and Krista Lausman as senior director of  strategic planning and transformation, each reporting to CEO Gianni Pieraccioni. The additions, driven by the company’s continued rapid growth, fill out its executive leadership team.

We expect to significantly capitalize on the wealth of experience and skills that Zaheer, Tara and Krista bring to Maesa.”

Ferguson will lead the company’s financial strategy. He brings to Maesa extensive experience in the financial and beauty sectors. Most recently, he served as portfolio group executive vice president as a member of the Bain Capital European Private Equity team. Prior to joining Bain in 2019, he worked with Coty in several operational financial roles including leading demand planning and commercial finance for the global luxury business and serving as the finance transformation lead for the largest merger in the beauty industry when Coty acquired Procter & Gamble Beauty. He was also CFO of a direct-to-consumer e-commerce start-up. Ferguson started his career in assurance and advisory with Deloitte. He is a UK national and earned his BA and MA in History from Cambridge University.

Tara Brown

Brown has over 20 years of CPG experience, much of it in beauty and personal care. She previously served as vice president of Keurig brand marketing, strategy and innovation. Before that she was a member of Johnson & Johnson’s global leadership team as vice president of total brand experience, with responsibilities for global marketing operations and for building leading edge digital capabilities. Earlier she held several leadership roles at P&G including marketing director for global feminine care franchises and front-end innovation. Brown is a Canadian national and earned her MBA from Cornell’s Johnson School of Business and her Honors Bachelor of Commerce from Queen’s University.

Scott Oshry, current chief marketing officer, will relinquish his brand, digital, e-commerce, CMI, and influencers’ marketing management responsibilities on Maesa’s proprietary brands to Brown, and assume the role of chief innovation officer, focusing on innovation, brand incubation and new global business development. Additionally, Oshry will continue to manage marketing and product development for U.S. private label brands, while Brown will oversee marketing and product development for all European private label brands in addition to her responsibilities on Maesa’s own brands.

Krista Lausman

Lausman brings a wealth of management consulting experience to Maesa and in her new role will be managing business strategy development and implementation as senior director of strategic planning and transformation. Most recently, she was an engagement manager at L.E.K. Consulting where she advised corporate and private equity clients on a range of strategic issues including growth and go-to-market strategies, international expansion, and M&A. Before that, Lausman worked with Mercer where she advised clients on critical organizational and talent issues. She is a U.S. national and holds an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management and a BS from Georgetown University.
