DELRAY BEACH, Fla. — Marc Glassman Inc. is slated to roll out the Celsius calorie-burning drink in its Marc’s pharmacy and XPECT discount stores.

Manufacturer Celsius Holdings Inc. said this week that the beverage will soon become available at 54 Marc’s stores throughout the Cleveland, Akron, Canton, Youngstown and Columbus region in Ohio and at six XPECT discount stores in Connecticut.

Plans call for Marc’s to carry Celsius in green tea raspberry acai, green tea peach mango and sparkling orange flavors, and four-packs of the beverage will be found in the stores’ diet sections.

"We are excited to partner with Marc’s, a leading food and pharmacy store in northeastern Ohio, and XPECT and to bring Celsius to more people in Ohio and Connecticut," commented Kelly Michols, vice president of strategic sales for Celsius.

The company said the Celsius beverage has been scientifically shown to burn up to 100 calories and more per can by raising metabolism and providing sustained energy. It contains no sugar, no preservatives, no high-fructose corn syrup, no aspartame, no artificial flavors and very low sodium. Celsius drinks are powered by MetaPlus, a proprietary blend of ingredients that includes green tea with EGCG, ginger, caffeine, calcium, chromium, and vitamins B and C.

Celsius is available nationwide and comes in seven flavors: orange, wild berry, cola, lemon-lime, ginger ale, green tea raspberry acai and green tea peach mango.

The company has announced a spate of food and drug retail store distributions for the Celsius beverage since the fall, including Rite Aid, Stop & Shop, Giant, Marsh Supermarkets, Bi-Lo, A&P, Pathmark, Harris Teeter, ShopRite, Ralphs, Supervalu and Duane Reade.
