ARLINGTON, Va. — National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) president and CEO Steven Anderson spoke and led the discussion at a virtual event hosted Tuesday by the Economic Club of Washington, D.C. The discussion addressed the question: “Once the COVID-19 vaccine is available, how do we immunize the American people the fastest way possible so we can open all aspects of the U.S. economy?”

Anderson noted the essential role of pharmacies and pharmacists throughout the pandemic. He described pharmacy’s readiness for a critical flu vaccination season – and preparations to serve as an efficient and effective component of COVID-19 vaccine deployment. He also described government actions that remain necessary to empower pharmacy fully on behalf of the American people in this ongoing crisis.
