CINCINNATI — Actress and philanthropist Priyanka Chopra has been named as Pantene’s newest global brand ambassador.
The Procter & Gamble hair care brand said Chopra will be the face of its new campaign, which spotlights its breakthrough Pantene Pro-V new shampoo formulas that “go beyond washing to fuel hair from within.”
Plans call for Chopra to appear in the Pantene’s multimedia marketing campaign, including television and digital advertising, public relations and social media. She will appear in a Pantene ensemble TV spot slated to air on Dec. 26 in the United States, as well as in her own TV ad campaign to begin airing in January.
“We are proud of our newest campaign, which highlights our biggest innovation in decades and thrilled to have Priyanka represent it,” stated Jodi Allen, vice president of hair care for North America at Procter & Gamble. “Her strength and confidence embody what the [Pantene] brand stands for, and we believe she will continue to inspire women around the world to embrace their strength and wear their confidence proudly.”
Pantene said its new Pro-V shampoos fuel hair with the nutrients it needs “to be strong from the core to endure the stressors it faces day in and day out.” The brand’s current offerings include Pantene Pro-V Breakage Defense, Beautiful Lengths, Classic Clean, Color Revival, Curl Perfection, Damage Detox, Daily Moisture Renewal, Full & Strong, Ice Shine, Nature Fusion, Repair & Protect, Smooth & Sleek, Pro-V Style Series, Sheer Volume, Truly Natural, Truly Relaxed and Ultimate 10. Pantene Expert offerings include AgeDefy, Intense Colorcare, Intense Hydration, Intense Repair and Intense Smooth.
“I’m excited to come on board as the new global ambassador for Pantene,” Chopra said in a statement. “A favorite around the world, I love that Pantene celebrates and advocates that being strong is beautiful. I believe in celebrating the inherent strength that every woman possesses, which made the decision to align with Pantene an easy one. We both believe that strong is beautiful and that every woman deserves glorious moments to pursue her dreams and to shine.”
Chopra stars as Alex Parrish in ABC-TV’s hit drama “Quantico,” a role for which she won a People’s Choice Award. In April she was featured on the cover of Time magazine’s coveted Time 100 issue as one of the “Most Influential People” in the world. Next May, she will make her Hollywood film debut in the action comedy film “Baywatch,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Zac Efron. She has more than 54 million social media followers.
In addition, Chopra was recently named a global UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, after serving as a National Goodwill Ambassador to India for 10 years. She is also a UN Foundation Girl Up Champion.
