Rexall spotlights pharmacists in social media campaign

TORONTO — Rexall is taking to social media to mark Pharmacist Awareness Month with its third annual #MyRexallPharmacist campaign.

Rexall pharmacist with customerThe Canadian drug chain said Wednesday that through March 31, customers can share a positive experience with a Rexall pharmacist on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter by using the hashtag #MyRexallPharmacist or by going online to the MyRexallPharmacist page on the retailer’s website.

Canadians sharing their story will get a chance to win a daily $100 Rexall gift card and the grand prize of 5,000 Air Miles Reward miles.

Rexall noted that patients’ experiences with its pharmacists go beyond dropping off and picking up prescriptions. In line with health care reforms and changing provincial regulations, Rexall pharmacists offer an expanded scope of practice that includes adjusting or adapting prescriptions, prescribing for certain minor ailments, prescribing in emergency situations, smoking cessation, administering vaccinations, performing medication reviews and creating care plans, among other services.

“Rexall has some of the best pharmacists in the world, and this campaign recognizes the high quality and personalized care they deliver every day in communities around the country,” Mary Kelly, executive vice president and chief pharmacy information technology officer. “It also underscores that Rexall pharmacists do much more than just fill prescriptions. They offer a variety of accessible and impactful services that benefit the health and well-being of Canadians.”
