Rite Aid opens modernized distribution center in Des Moines, Wash

PHILADELPHIA — Rite Aid announced the expansion of its 266,000-square-foot distribution center in Des Moines, Wash., boasting a modern design and world-class technology that will serve 250 additional Rite Aid stores across Washington, Oregon and Idaho, beginning January 2024.

The newly renovated facility at 21202 24th Ave S, includes floor-to-ceiling, state-of-the-art OPEX® Infinity® technology, an automated goods-to-person solution that delivers items right to associate workstations for greater productivity and faster output. Rite Aid’s facility features the largest OPEX Infinity system created to date, measuring 45,000 square feet. Renovations also include fully upgraded office spaces, breakrooms, conference areas and locker rooms that showcase a clean, modern design.

The investment in the facility is ultimately an investment in our partners, our people, our customers and our community.”

The expansion also brings approximately 50 new warehouse production positions to the local community, including pickers, receivers, sorters and maintenance engineers. More than 100 full-time employees currently operate the facility.
