BURLINGTON, Vt. — Seventh Generation has expanded its eco-friendly household products lineup with the launch of Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray.

Seventh Generation Disinfectant SprayThe company said the new Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray kills 99.99% of bacteria and viruses via the brand’s CleanWell technology, a disinfectant formula based on thyme oil.

Appropriate for use in homes, the disinfectant is effective at killing such viruses as rhinovirus type 37 (the common cold virus) and influenza A viruses (including H1N1) as well as bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enterica, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli, according to the company

Seventh Generation Disinfectant Spray also eliminates odors and has scents made with essential oils and botanical extracts. The spray comes in three varieties: Lavender Vanilla & Thyme Scent; Fresh Citrus & Thyme Scent; and Eucalyptus, Spearmint & Thyme Scent.

No rinse required after use, even on food contact surfaces — unique in the category, Seventh Generation noted. The spray is nonflammable and powered by compressed air, using continuous 360-degree spray technology that doesn’t lose pressure.

The new disinfectant sprays are rolling out nationwide at CVS Pharmacy, Target, supermarkets and natural food stores.

“Seventh Generation has always believed that every element of our products should keep the well-being of our customers in mind. Our new disinfectant sprays are no different,” stated Joey Bergstein, chief operating officer of Seventh Generation. “We went through extensive work to ensure we were putting together a botanically based spray we can feel good about people using in their homes.”
