PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Thrifty White Pharmacy announced Monday that its specialty pharmacy has been re-accredited under URAC’s Specialty Pharmacy Accreditation standards. By achieving this status, Thrifty White has demonstrated a comprehensive commitment to quality care, improved processes and better patient outcomes.

Over the last 6+ years, Thrifty White has put a focus on expanding their specialty pharmacy solutions, creating a unique model leveraging centralized specialty expertise, including programs run by certified specialty pharmacists, in addition to its trusted community pharmacy locations. This ability to offer face-to-face pharmacist interaction has been proven to increase adherence and persistency, ultimately leading to better therapy outcomes. They now offer local specialty medication pickup, specialized counseling, and device training across 100 community pharmacy locations, in addition to home delivery services reaching all 50 states.

“Receiving URAC’s Specialty Pharmacy Re-accreditation further validates our comprehensive specialty pharmacy model and support program. It not only shows our commitment to patient care, but that we’ve been meeting these standards over the last 3 years.” said Jeremy Faulks, director of Thrifty White’s Specialty Pharmacy. “We are one of only a select few Specialty Pharmacies with 3 Accreditations, further proving our commitment to delivering quality care and a better solution for patients who value their local pharmacist relationship.” Alongside this commitment, over the last four years Thrifty White’s specialty pharmacy has delivered growth rates exceeding 3x industry averages.

“It’s necessary for specialty pharmacies to provide a higher level of treatment for patients so desired outcomes are achieved. Thrifty White Pharmacy shows a dedication to patient education and safety through the recognition of quality it received with URAC’s independent accreditation,” said URAC president and chief executive officer Shawn Griffin. “With URAC accreditation, people know that Thrifty White strives to adhere to industry best practices.”

President and chief executive officer Bob Narveson continued “We are excited to receive specialty pharmacy accreditation from URAC. Thrifty White continues to innovate, creating industry changing solutions which lead to better outcomes and lower healthcare costs. This accreditation is another example of how we are 100% committed to delivering the best patient care.” Over the past 12 months, Thrifty White has delivered PDC adherence scores above 92% for specialty, demonstrating this commitment.
