Walgreens adds new services for seniors during COVID-19 outbreak

DEERFIELD, Ill.— Walgreens announced on Sunday the following new services to keep seniors safe, supplied and connected during the COVID-19 pandemic:

• Every Tuesday, starting Tuesday, March 24, is now Seniors Day at Walgreens with all-day discounts and seniors-only shopping from 8am-9am. This hour is also available to caregivers and immediate families.

 • The retailer is offering its senior day discount all day on Tuesdays during this time. Customers 55 and older will receive 30 percent off regularly priced Walgreens brands and 20 percent off regularly priced national brands. Current quantity limits on certain high demand products will be required.

•  Walgreens pharmacists are currently reaching out to senior patients to ensure they receive the care and service they need, like prescription medications and product supply check-ins.

• Walgreens plays a critical role in providing patients and customers access to the care, products and serivces they need. The retailer is also offering drive-thru shopping. Customers can pull up to the pharmacy drive-thru and shop select health, cleaning and grocery items.
